Comments are where members test ideas, add detail and share what they know. Every article, thread and write-up has a comment box at the bottom.
Who can read and who can comment?
Anyone can read the write-ups from the Daily Stock Market Report and the comments under them. Only subscribers can comment, reply or like. If you do not see a comment box, log in. If you are not a subscriber, [subscribe link].
How do I post a comment?
To comment on the article: type in the comment box at the bottom of the page, then post it.
To reply to a comment: click Reply under that comment. A reply box opens.
Where does my comment show?
Each company write-up in the Daily Stock Market Report has its own page, with its own comments.
Comment on a write-up, and your comment also shows on that day's report.
Comment on the report and tag the stock with "@", and your comment also shows on that day's write-up for that stock.
You only need to post once.
How do I tag a stock in a comment?
Type "@" in your comment. The Stockopedia search opens. Type the company name or ticker, then select the stock to link its StockReport. If you write your comment somewhere else and paste it in, put "@" before each ticker, so you can check every link before you post.
On the Daily Stock Market Report, always tag the company. Your comment then also shows on that day's write-up, where members who follow that company will see it.
Who gets told about my comment?
When you comment on an article, the author gets an email. When you reply to a comment, that member gets an email. To change how you get these notifications, see Manage your notifications settings.
How do I like, share or report a comment?
Like: click the thumbs-up under the comment.
Share: click Link to copy a link to the comment, or Share to post it on social media.
Report: if a comment could upset or offend, click Flag. It then goes to Stockopedia's administrators.
The author of an article or thread can also moderate the comments on it: click Moderate.
How do I change how comments show?
Two dropdowns sit at the top of the comments.
Sort by: Most Popular, Latest or Oldest. Oldest is the default, so the newest comment is last.
Replies: Unthreaded shows comments in time order. Threaded puts each reply under the comment it answers.
Long threads load more comments as you scroll down.
