At Stockopedia, we believe that everyone who uses the site has something to share. The Discussion stream is where that happens. It holds articles, threads and opinion about the stock market from our members and our research team, including the Daily Stock Market Report.
To open it, click Discuss in the main menu.
What is in the stream?
The newest articles and threads show at the top. When someone comments on an article or thread, that item moves back to the top. So the stream always shows where the conversation is active now.
The Daily Stock Market Report shows as one item each day. Each company write-up in the report has its own page, but the write-ups do not show in the stream on their own. Open the report to see the day's write-ups.
How do I sort the stream?
Most Recent: the newest items, and the items with the newest comments.
Most Popular: the items with the most likes.
Most Discussed: the items with the most comments.
How do I use the Discuss menu?
When you click Discuss, a menu opens. Use it to browse by Discussions, Blogs, Topics and Authors, or click Create Post to start a discussion. To close the menu and get more space, click the cross at the top.
Blogs: our regular series, including the Daily Stock Market Report, the NAPS Portfolio, Screen & StockRanks and Market Analysis.
Topics: the stream sorted by theme, such as Stock Picks, Folio Management and Guru Screens.
How can I see all the blogs?
Hover over Discuss in the side menu. At the bottom, click See all blogs. You can also go straight to the list: https://app.stockopedia.com/columns
How do I find all the NAPS articles?
Hover over Discuss in the side menu. Under UK Blogs, click The NAPS Portfolio. You can also go straight to the blog: https://app.stockopedia.com/columns/the-naps-portfolio-43
What does each item in the stream tell me?
Each article or thread takes one row.
Likes: the number on the far left shows how many readers liked it. Click the up arrow to like it.
Tags: the labels under the title show the company or theme. Click a tag to see every item with that tag.
Author: the picture under the title. Hover over it to see the name, or click it to open their profile. The date and the number of reads are next to it.
Comments: on the right, the blue number is the total number of comments, and the red number is the comments you have not read yet. On the Daily Stock Market Report, the blue number also counts the comments on the day's write-ups. The pictures show who commented, and the time shows the latest comment.
How do I start a discussion?
Click Create Post at the top of the Discuss menu. Well-researched articles get the most comments, likes and reads. We can remove poor articles from the stream. Before you post, read our Posting Guidelines.
Can I edit what I posted?
You can edit a comment for 1 hours after you post it: click Edit on the comment. You can edit an article or a thread header at any time. We keep a full history of every edit.
